When do I need a service contract? |
I understand that I have received a permit to install and operate a mechanical onsite wastewater treatment plant, and I hereby certify that I acknowledge my responsibility for providing perpetual maintenance of this system, for the life of the system, in accordance with the requirements set forth in Part 13, Chapter 7, §725. M. 2. of the Louisiana Administrative Code, Title 51, Public Health Sanitary Code, and upon expiration of the initial two year service warranty. |
Aerated treatment units must always be under a service contract unless the owner has received training from the Louisiana Department of Health. When applying for a permit to install an aerated treatment unit, the owner must sign FORM F SF-11 acknowledging the system must be perpetually maintained. Although parish and state officials may not enforce this guideline on a regular basis since the large number of systems in the area does not make it economical, it is typically enforced once the owner sells their property, applies for a building permit, or makes change with their electrical provider.
